What's New

Submissions to the groups gallery are now Open :excited:

However, we have changed the submissions limit to One submission, per member, per month.

I am sure we will still have some complaints on this, but we get many complaints from members that we are "spamming" or "flooding" their message centers!

What everyone needs to realize is that even with One submission per member a month there are still going to be a lot of submissions! We have over 10,000 members!

The Best thing to do is to remove the the groups submissions in your message center ( we explain how to do that here naturephotographer.deviantart.… ) you can then come to the group and view the submissions at your leisure!

Also as we have stated in the past, we will be checking quality on all images and that you are adhering to the groups submission guidelines naturephotographer.deviantart.…

If you have an image you do not feel is of good enough quality, or one that is rejected when submitted then please feel free to submit it to our "Critique" folder naturephotographer.deviantart.…! The folder is there for members to utilize in getting feedback and critique on their photos in order to better their skills in nature photography!

Submissions to the Critique folder are One per week.

You do not need to be a subscribed member of dA you to utilize this folder. Feedback and Critique can be given in the comments of any deviation!

Submissions to the Critique Folder still need to be nature photos and still adhere to our groups guidelines (but will not be declined on quality).

Members are encouraged to give feedback to others posted in the folder naturephotographer.deviantart.…

We also have a folder for Photography Tutorials naturephotographer.deviantart.… located in our Collections tab where you will find helpful tutorials and tips on your photography. Feel free to submit tutorials if you have them or suggest others you come across on dA.

and don't forget about The Nature Photographers Toolbox naturephotographer.deviantart.…!

Please, Please, Please pay attention when you are submitting and choose the correct gallery folder for your images! We have many submissions come in that are submitted to the wrong folder - mainly everything is going to the Aquatic Life folder (I imagine it is because it is the first in the list of folders  ).

From now on we will be declining images that are not submitted to the correct folder. This will count against your submission limit and you will have to wait until the following month to re-submit! So, make sure you take your time and submit to the proper folder

We will no longer have the "Man and Nature" folder. It is just causing too much confusion with members and making way more work for the admins. We will still accept some nature photos that have minimal man made objects in them (SEE SAMPLES HERE naturephotographer.deviantart.… ) BUT, they need to adhere to the groups submission guidelines.

The photos that are currently in the "Man and Nature" folder will be moved to the other gallery folders accordingly.

Although we try our best to reply to all declines, due to the large amount of messages, it is not always possible to reply to all of them.

The main reasons why they are declined are because:

:bulletred: They are submitted to the wrong folder (ie. A flower picture to the Aquatic Life folder)

:bulletred: Domestic animals are NOT in a natural setting

:bulletred: Your deviations are NOT categorized as Photography> Animals, Plants and Nature or Macro - Nature.

:bulletred: Your deviation is a Miscat, Photomanip or over edited

:bulletred: Just because a photo is categorized as Macro, does not mean it will be accepted in the Macro Gallery Folder. We get many images that are not macro but have been uploaded as a macro photo.

:bulletred: The picture has too many man-made elements or man-made/people are the main focus. We allow man-made elements and people as long as there is more nature than the man-made elements.

Look at examples of what we will accept and decline right here: naturephotographer.deviantart.…

We do not like to decline submissions, however we will if they don't follow the rules. Please don't be disheartened! :huggle:
